DaFlores provides well designed bouquets for a range of special occasions and people. This attractive website is colorful, offering access to specially-designed flower bouquets and other gifts, such as chocolates and balloons, with live support and special date calendars. It provides flowers through using several other websites, primarily RosesNBoxes.com for US delivery.
Our first experiences with DaFlores were somewhat mixed. The site itself is colorful and inviting, directing you towards flowers for a particular occasion (at the time of this review, Mother’s Day seemed to be the big hitter). From the home page, you choose your location and the occasion for which your flowers will be delivered, and the site does the rest. In fact, this is a little more confusing that it first seems, because you are then redirected to another website, through which you can place an order.
When ordering flowers for delivery to the US, DaFlores redirects you to Roses N Boxes. Here, you’re presented with a fair few attractive bouquets, although the city and occasion we were asked for appeared to have been ignored completely. Still, we were pleased by the appearance of the bouquets on offer.
We liked the fact that you could upgrade your vase when ordering flowers. This means you can choose something a bit better suited to your tastes, or produce a slightly more special gift. The standard free vase also looks fine, though, if your order includes it. As well as altering the vase, you can also choose packages which include chocolates and stuffed animals. The site is keen to announce that you can include a free message, but this is a pretty common feature on most flower delivery websites.
Delivery and choice
Delivery may be effective, but it’s expensive. We had expected delivery to be free (after all you’re spending quite a lot on flowers) but standard delivery has a relatively high fee, and Saturday deliveries cost even more. The bouquets are also not cheap, so we’re a little surprised by this additional cost. At least Da Flores offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
In terms of choice within the US, there’s not really as much variety as we’d hope for. The site seems fixated on trying to sell flowers for a particular calendar event, whether or not you want them for that reason. Add-ons are pretty standard, but also a little pricey.
One good thing about this site is that you can have flowers delivered internationally. This may be useful if you want to show a friend or family member that you’re thinking of them whilst they’re abroad. The site you will be forwarded to may vary depending on the destination of your flowers, and therefore prices and services might also vary. If you’re not sure exactly who you’re ordering through and what you should get for your money, we recommend talking to the customer services team, who are available through a live chat feature.
Everything taken into account, we find it a little difficult to really recommend DaFlores over its competitors. Whilst its arrangements are attractive and you can choose an alternate vase, prices are high and the variety isn’t going to blow your mind. The service forwards you to other sales sites too, and finding your ideal bouquet may not be as easy as it should be. Still, if you find something you like for a price you’re willing to pay, there’s no reason not to give this site a try.
