I ordered a dish garden from the website for From You Flowers to be sent to a funeral home in a Boston suburb - the order was placed on Saturday afternoon, not late in the day. Late Saturday evening, From You Flowers left a voice mail message and sent an email that they could not find a florist to deliver the dish garden, and suggesting that I give them the home address of a family member of the deceased to send the dish garden there, at a later date. Their automated service to check the status of the order said that my order was "scheduled for delivery", which made me think they had found a florist after they had left the voice mail and sent the email. However, when I phoned on Sunday afternoon to verify whether or not they had found someone to deliver a dish garden for me, I was told that they had not done so.

First, this is the greater Boston area - it is difficult to believe that an online florist could not find a florist or garden center in the greater Boston area to deliver something appropriate on a timely basis for a wake that began at 3PM the following day. Second, their suggestion that I give them the address of a family member was inappropriate - they would be giving that address to an unknown-to-me third party whose staff would then know the address of people would could be guaranteed not to be home during the wake and the funeral, which is a prime time for home burglaries - I would never send a sympathy arrangement to a home, because I would not want to make it any more likely that the family would be targeted for a burglary.

The only thing that they did right was to refund my money properly.

That does not, however, make up for the fact that they failed to deliver an order that they took - if they don't have enough florists near the zip code for the delivery, they should not be taking online orders for that area.

In summary, I would not recommend From You Flowers to a friend.
