I have been using 1-800-Flowers for years, and especially for the last few, there has been an issue every time!! I quit placing orders that were to be delivered by a local florist because every time, either the order was wrong, items I paid extra for were left out, or even substituted with a much lower quality item or lower quality flowers, or the flowers were already half dead. Example, I paid extra for an extra balloon, and only one was provided, or I paid extra for a mylar balloon, and a latex balloon was sent instead. I even paid extra to have a teddy bear included and it was left out entirely!
This last time I placed an order for my Mother's birthday, to be delivered on 2/13. I placed this order in January. I made sure I chose an arrangement that would be sent from the vendor via FedEx or UPS, so that I would not have to deal with a local delivery. I kept checking the UPS tracking number until the afternoon of 2/12, remember this is for a 2/13 delivery. I still kept getting the message that the tracking number could not be found. I finally called 1-800-Flowers and spent 30 MINUTES on the phone with a girl I could barely understand explaining the situation. She spent that time continuing to recheck the delivery address and my email address with me. Even after contacting the vendor and telling me they verified they received the order. I kept trying to get her to just give me the new tracking number. I took her forever to do so. I finally gout the new tracking number from her, and upon delivery today, 2/13, I received 3 emails verifying delivery. When I finally talked to my Mother, I found out she received 3 packages of THE SAME ORDER!. Nice she got all those flowers, and I do have to say they are much better quality than I have been getting out of local florists. But, now I tried calling 1-800-Flowers again, to make sure I didn't get charged 3 times, for the ONE order I placed. After waiting 30 minutes, I finally got someone. Once again, I could barely understand her, and all she did was put me on hold for another 10 minutes, then verify that they only had one order in the system, and that I would have to call back tomorrow and speak to someone in billing. This took here another 5 minutes just to get me their number. I will definitely NOT be using 1-800-flowers again!!! I've had enough!!!
